Though Apple had introduced the technology for delivering automated security updates to its OS two years ago, but it hadn’t been used until this week. In this case, Apple spokesman Bill Evans told Reuters, the company wanted to protect customers as quickly as possible due to the severity of the vulnerabilities. “The update is seamless,” Evans said. “It doesn’t even require a restart.” The NTP vulnerabilities were discovered by Google Security Team researchers Neel Mehta and Stephen Roettger, and were detailed in a recent alert from the Industrial Control Systems Cyber Emergency Response Team (ICS-CERT) and are published on Techworm here....

A Senior Cyber Security Expert states that Mozilla Firefox and Chrome are the two most important and popular web browsers among Indian consumers. this vulnerability is discovered recently and this vulnerability is caused due to improper access restrictions to “about:home” buttons by script on pages in Mozilla Firefox. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability using a website successful exploitation could cause sensitive data theft. Similar vulnerabilities is reported in Google Chrome browser....

Imagine what is at stake here. There are approximately 245 million registered CCTV cameras worldwide, and many of them still had the default login credentials. Imagine that these 245 million camera’s turning into zombie networks. The combined power of these security cameras could launch mammoth sized DDoS attack against any entity in the world. Right now only 1000 cameras have been infected according the Incapsula research. Considering the risks these unsecured security cameras pose, companies have to either ship more secure cameras or tell their customers how to protect themselves....

Jeff from Pink Java Media says that he realized his Model S has all the necessary systems to play Pokemon Go: a 17-inch touchscreen, a camera, an ethernet cable and GPS. He doesn’t reveal in details how he managed to make to app work, but he actually released some footage of the app working on his touchscreen. All he says that he started the App and drove around his Tesla to find Pokemon....

The researchers have dubbed the neural network as “Norman” (named after Hitchcock’s Norman Bates in the 1960s film Psycho). Apparently, Norman’s computer brain was reportedly born out of an unusual training process, wherein the AI was warped by exposure to “the darkest corners of Reddit” during its early training, which ultimately caused it to develop psychopathic data processing tendencies. Eventually, Norman was dubbed “psychopath AI” after psychological tests disclosed patterns associated with psychopathic traits in humans....

Azure Sphere mainly contains three components that work together to protect and power devices at the intelligent edge: certified microcontrollers (MCUs), the Azure Sphere Security Service – a cloud-based security service – for connecting and security IoT devices, and Azure Sphere OS – a custom Linux-based operating system, which marks the first time Microsoft has basically launched its own Linux distribution. Microsoft says the goal is to be able to offer “security protection for a 10-year lifetime of the device....

In the lawsuit filed in federal court in the Western District of Washington on Wednesday, Microsoft accuses the government of violating the US Constitution by preventing the tech giant from notifying thousands of customers about data requests for their emails and other documents. Microsoft says in its suit that it received 5,624 federal demands for customer information in the past 18 months, and nearly half of them came with gag orders stopping the company from telling customers the government was looking at their data....

Brad Sams from Thurrott was the first to discover a code hidden within a Windows Insider build 18334 – a beta version of the incoming Windows 10 April 2019 Update – that hints at the tech giant looking to merge the Xbox One and Windows PC games ecosystems together. This feature will allow PCs to read the Xbox file format. At Build 2018 conference, Microsoft announced a new developer partnership stake, according to which all the non-game developers would be getting the 95% of the revenue earned from application sales. This step is possibly taken to attract more developers to work for Windows app. What’s the drill? Now, Microsoft’s Jen Gentleman has teased a new feature that will allow users to add support for images in Sticky Notes. Microsoft made this announcement at the JSConf in Florida today. According to its plan, it will be open sourcing Chakra, the JavaScript engine used in its Edge and Internet Explorer browsers. The code will be published to the Microsoft’s GitHub page next month. Microsoft is open sourcing what it calls ChakraCore. ChakraCore includes the complete JavaScript engine—the parser, the interpreter, the just-in-time compiler, and the garbage collector along with the API used to embed the engine into applications such as Microsoft Edge....

Quantum Dot Spectrometer created by MIT scientists is small enough to fit inside a smartphone camera and it empowers the device to diagnose skin ailments as well as detect environmental pollutants.About the new Quantum Dot spectrometer: Usually, due to its huge size a spectrometer is not portable. However, scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have now developed tiny spectrometer by using minuscule semiconductor nanoparticles called as quantum dots. These Quantum Dot spectrometers are small enough to fit inside the camera of a smartphone....

The smartphone service providers have set some tariffs ceilings for their subscriber. Normally when subscriber is availing the service in their home town the “local tariffs” are applicable however when the subscriber moves from their home town to any other state then the concept of National roaming service gets applicable as the service provider now takes support of other service provider or visited network and hence subscriber is charged more which is termed as “roaming tariff”....

The results of their tests are quite revealing as most AVs were found to be let malware and trojan pass through undetected. According to the tests, 85% of the Windows malware went through unrecognized, and up to 75% of pure Linux malware remained undetected on these free AV solutions. The researchers from AV-TEST did some extensive testing on Linux by using an Ubuntu desktop 12.04 LTS 64 bit version and infected the OS with 900 “attackers” and used various applications to root them out....

We had reported on 26th Jan that TPB website was now showing a Phoenix and it was supposed to signify the rise of TPB from the digital ashes. Now the remaining members of TPB may be launching a trimmed version but as of now there is no official confirmation of the news....

My Preparation Experience To kick start my preparation, I picked up the 6.0 Blueprint because I learnt that the 6.5 exam guide was not as detailed as it should be. Well, I discovered that the 6.0 Blueprint is also not as helpful as I thought it would be. Unfortunately, because the VMware 3V0-624 exam is relatively new, there have been not much write-ups on it. Prior to writing the test, I knew the exam consists of 60 questions and they are multiple-choice ones, drag and drop, and matching formats....
