HTC vulnerable to fingerprint stealing, stores fingerprint image files in unencrypted folderHTC fixed the bug In a white paper released by FireEye researchers(PDF), the group mentioned how easy it was to recover the image files from an HTC One Max phone. Now, a retail packaging box image of an alleged ASUS GeForce RTX 3090 Ti TUF Gaming graphics card has been leaked by Chinese news outlet IT Home (via HXL) that gives us a sneak peak of the upcoming flagship. Unfortunately, the image does not provide any new information such as the card’s specs, but basically reiterates rumours that have already been circulated. “IT House has reported that Nvidia’s upcoming RTX 3090 Ti 24G will be equipped with Micron’s 21Gbps GDDR6X video memory,” reads a machine translation of a portion of IT Home’s article describing the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti’s alleged specs....

In the research, which was released to The Washington Post, the team demonstrated that while they couldn’t decrypt the text in messages, they were able to intercept images, videos and other files. Professor Matthew D. Green and his team of graduate students mounted an attack to show that they could break the encryption that is meant to protect photos and videos sent on iMessage. iOS developer and 9to5Mac reporter Guilherme Rambo, spotted a reference to an unreleased budget iPhone in Apple’s new suite of development tools, Xcode 10, on Tuesday. This device, which is internally called LCP with the model number N84 could be the “low-cost iPhone”. For those unaware, Google Photos is a photo sharing and storage service that gives users free, unlimited storage for photos. Security researchers Michael Milvich and Sofiane Talmat from IOActive made public the flaws in the pre-installed software on Windows run Lenovo PCs in April. The researchers had discovered the flaws in February but gave time to Lenovo for patching the same. The researchers said that the vulnerabilities affect the Lenovo System Update software version 5.6.0.27 and earlier. The Lenovo System Update is a preinstalled software which was earlier known as ThinkVantage System Update and is present on Lenovo ThinkPad, ThinkCenter and ThinkStation laptops and tablets, as well as Lenovo V/B/K/E Series PCs....
