Adam Bell, an iOS developer has made it known to public that it is possible to hack iOS 9’s Picture-in-Picture feature on iOS 9 for iPads to run your favorite game. Picture in Picture is used to view FaceTime video calls and video playback from the home screen or within other apps so users can work with other apps without stopping the continuous process of playback. Currently, the feature is limited only to Apple’s videos played through Safari and video apps; however, a public API is available for developers to let other video apps like YouTube to add support for Picture in Picture on iOS 9....

As a result, Facebook has announced it will soon roll out a feature that lets a user turn off Live Video notifications. According to Facebook, the users will not be flooded with the alerts by default for much longer as the ability to turn off Live Video notifications is on the way “soon”, reported Engadget. “We have heard from people that they don’t want to miss live videos from the people or Pages they care about, so we may send a notification if someone you’ve recently interacted with is going live, in case you want to tune in,” a Facebook spokesperson was quoted as saying....

The emails sent are part of a new campaign called Get It Right, which cautions subscribers that they have 20 days to stop downloading copyrighted material using peer-to-peer websites. However, if another copyright infringement activity occurs and is detected during the 20 day grace period, another educational email from the Get It Right campaign will be sent. A similar campaign has also been started in the United States wherein torrent site users only have seven-days to comply....

Ransomware is a particularly virulent type of malicious code which spreads through downloads, phishing campaigns and malicious links. Once a system has been infected, a lock screen appears and all files on the device are encrypted. The cyber-security firm first discovered the CoinVault attacks in May 2014. Since then, this aggressive ransomware that heavily encrypts data files on infected computers and demands payment in Bitcoin for the encryption keys has made over 1,500 victims in more than 108 countries....

The study was published in Management Information Systems Quarterly, where researchers monitored people moving their cursors in order to determine if an individual was frustrated or was it something else entirely. To reach a conclusive analysis, the researchers had to create scenarios where the participants were actually getting frustrated and angry with the tests they hand to endure. The network of compromised cameras was uncovered by researchers at security firm Arbor Networks, who reported that large scale distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks took down websites by flooding them with traffic. Arbor Networks’ ASERT group has found the number of command-and-control servers unique to LizardStresser has increased during 2016 with cyber-criminals managing to break into IoT devices primarily by using the unit’s default password. According to Vickery (who goes by the screen name FoundTheStuff) on Reddit, “The data was/is publicly available. No exploits or vulnerabilities involved. [Zeobit and Kromtech] published it to the open web with no attempt at protection.” Vickery found the vulnerability by doing a random “port:27017” search on Shodan.io. He was able to download 13 Million customer records by simply entering a selection of IP addresses, with no username or password required to access the data....
