Clicking on the admissions page redirected the visitors to a adult site, however within hours of the breaking of hacking news, the officials were able to fix out the issue. The damage for the time the site was redirected is predicted to be very high as the admission season has just begun to set in. This is not the first time when the Jadavpur University was targeted by the hackers, back in September last year, the website was hacked and the page about the vice chancellor was replaced with a fake message from him saying he is sorry. The last year’s hack happened after the vice chancellor was allegedly charged of sexually harassing a student, and the students were lathi charged by the police for protesting outside the vice chancellor’s office. “Necessary actions have been taken and police have been informed. We are also trying to get to the bottom of the matter because this is the second time the site has been hacked into,” registrar PK Ghosh told IANS.
